LOCAL FOSTER CARERS TO ATTEND ANNUAL ‘THANK-YOU’ LUNCHES

18.05.10

Karen Parsons, the agency’s Carer Recruitment Officer (East England), commented: “These lunches take place annually and are our way of saying ‘thank-you’ to our carers for all the hard work they put into providing a safe and supportive environment for babies, children and teenagers during the year.”

The first lunch will take place at The Ploughman’s Hall, West Fen Road, Willingham, Cambridge, CB24 5LP. The second is being staged at the Pathway Care office in Oundle on Wednesday 26th May, also between 12pm and 2pm.

“We feel these lunches are a great way for carers to get together and share experiences, as well as feel they are part of a network of carers. From our point of view it gives us an opportunity to also let them know about forthcoming events in the Pathway Care calendar and talk informally about their work.

“Our carers provide children from all types of backgrounds with the care and support that gives them a ‘stepping stone’ to a brighter future. Most carers are looking to make a difference for children and to give something back into society. Whilst it can be challenging at times, foster carers fund it truly rewarding in helping a child to a better life. Our care support workers work alongside them and give them all the support they need.”
