22.07.10
Local foster care agency Pathway Care spent the day in the Cambridgeshire towns of St Neots and Cambourne meeting local residents and bringing to their attention the plight of more than 10,000 children in care.
Pathway Care is currently looking to recruit around 40 additional carers in the Cambridgeshire area. The agency’s local team of Neil Banks (Senior Practitioner), Karen Parsons (Carer Recruitment Officer) and social workers Moira Hogan, Anna Wilson, Natalie Sharpe and Arlene Bernard distributed posters and information leaflets. Karen Parsons commented: “Many shops, community centres and care practices supported “We were particularly pleased with the positive response from Cambourne,” she said.
Vince McGrath, Pathway Care Regional Team Manager commented: “The main reasons for our shortfall in carers is down to the increased demand from local authorities for placements and some of our experienced carers having retired over the past couple of years.”
